Those in the Waynesville area who currently drive a Nissan Sentra will be enthused to hear that the automaker has revealed its 2013 Sentra installation at the Beijing International Auto Show in China.
Why uncover an American auto in China? While the automaker's action might seem perplexing upon first glance, it's important to note that the next Sentra is actually built on a new global platform. What's more, overseas markets will get the model first as the 2013 Nissan Sylphy.
Of course, Anderson Nissan knows those in Asheville are more interested in what will eventually join our new Nissan lineup at 629 Brevard Road Asheville, NC 28806, than the China-based Sylphy. Fortunately, Nissan has released a teaser video of the North American-spec 2013 Nissan Sentra and we're more than happy to share details.
Displayed in its SR trim, an exclusively American package, the 2013 Sentra looks to sport LED running lamps and taillamps with a more rounded design. In fact, true enthusiasts might note the model's striking resemblance to a more compact version of the Nissan Altima...in terms of design that is.
As for the revamped Sentra sedan's underpinnings, Nissan engineers have equipped the model with the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder powertrain as before. Only this time around, the automaker added in a seriously improved CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Translation: improved fuel economy and performance.
When will we see the 2013 Nissan Sentra arrive at Anderson Nissan? Company officials hint sometime this fall. Be sure to contact us online if you're interested in test driving the model upon its release. That way, we'll be able to inform you as soon as it arrives.
