Lighter, edgier and more aerodynamic than ever, the upcoming Nissan Pathfinder has auto enthusiasts on the tip of their toes looking for more vehicle specs. A month or so ago, Anderson Nissan of Asheville and other brand followers were given a tiny taste of the utility vehicle magic to come with a teaser image. Now, thanks to the Detroit Auto Show, we have a bit of "concept" knowledge to add to the pre-vehicle-release mix.
Built on a lighter frame with sleeker styling, the 2013 model is positioned to receive better fuel-economy than the current Nissan Pathfinder offering. Company officials in fact, are estimating the improvement to be as high as 25-percent.
Pulling together the darkened teaser image with a look at the Detroit-revealed concept, Anderson Nissan of Asheville has picked out the following new model features:
Strong, wheel-oriented fender
- More cargo room
- Redesigned chrome grill
- All-wheel drive with optional front-wheel drive
- V-6 engine
- Nissan next-gen CVT
In addition to a more dramatic persona, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will also take on a crossover identity. While some might be concerned about the model abandoning its off-road ruggedness, Nissan feels that this is what the consumer market at large is looking for.
